It’s quite apparent that major success stories in the beauty industry are now often about (drumroll, please) — YouTube stars. I’m referring to the influencers in beauty communities all over the world. One of those influencers is Tati Westbrook, who is known as glamlifeguru on YouTube and, if you didn’t already know, she’s finally launching her own line, Tati Beauty — starting with a palette.
Confused and don’t know who Westbrook is? Sit back and allow me to school you for a minute. Tati Westbrook is what I like to call a YouTube beauty veteran. That’s because Westbrook has been making videos for more than 10 years, teaching people of all ages the tips and tricks of makeup application, advising them on which products to try, and my personal favorite, her beauty shopping hauls. At one point she was uploading five videos a week. But launching her own line is a really Big Deal.
Now let’s not forget this isn’t the first time the YouTuber has created a brand. About two years ago Westbrook launched her supplement brand Halo Beauty. And while that venture is successful, according to its founder her fans were disappointed it wasn’t a cosmetics line.
Well, Westbrook heard their cry and took to her YouTube channel last week to announce Tati Beauty. The first product is a palette, but this isn’t your ordinary, I-just-started-a-beauty-brand palette. This is definitely not a basic or boring palette.
Westbrook is kicking off her beauty brand with a 24-pan eye shadow palette. According to the brand’s Instagram account, it holds four finishes: matte, glitter, sequin, and metallic. The shades include beautiful color stories of silvers, nudes, oranges, reds, and pinks. There’s something for everyone.
But it’s not what’s in the palette that stands out, it’s the way it’s organized. Westbrook formatted the palette to match different skin tones (or different moods), so users can create monochromatic looks. You may have seen a similar color scheme before, but the formatting and concept are unique.
The palette is vegan and cruelty-free and will retail for $48, which comes down to $2 per shade — a bargain in (and for) my eyes. (See what I did there?)
If you watch Westbrook on her channel there’s one thing you should know: The formula in this palette and in future products from Tati Beauty (she revealed in her video that she already has 30 collections planned) will consistently have some kick-ass pigment payoff.
Tati Beauty launches today at 10 a.m., PST on tatibeauty.com.
