If you’re suffering from dry, chapped lips, Michael said using nipple cream as a lip balm works wonders for a silky smooth pout.

Made from 100 per cent lanolin – a fat naturally secreted by wool-bearing animals like sheep –  the Lansinoh Nipple Cream, retailed at $16.45, can moisturise and soothe flaky, cracked lips.

‘For me, chuck out the lip balm, it’s all about the nipple cream,’ Michael said.

For a dewy finish, Michael suggested using a humble jar of Vaseline on the cheekbones, and even on the eyelids.

‘So one thing a lot of bathrooms have is Vaseline, but as a makeup artist, I’ve been using it for years on the face, it’s actually great as a skin highlight,’ he said.

Michael said the secret to the perfect brows is using a bar soap.

‘Now it’s become the biggest trend in makeup and the beauty world. You can use your bar soap at home… fluffy brows are in,’ he said.

Flyaways are an annoying fact of life for many women – but Michael said there’s an unlikely item you can use to get rid of the pesky frizz.

‘A little trick is using a hard deodorant stick,’ he explained.

To apply the product to your hair, he said roll the deodorant from the part line.

‘Just work that deodorant stick over the top [of your head] – don’t worry if you can see the deodorant because you can brush it out,’ he said.

To achieve Kim Kardashian’s ‘wet hair look’ from the 2019 Met Gala, Michael suggested using lubricant.

‘[Lubricant] really works well, it’s a little bit different but I’ve been using it in my kit for a very long time,’ he said.

‘So the petroleum jelly part of it is what makes the hair look wet and that shiny finish all night.’
