The fashion bar was set high for Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday, which is traditionally known as Ladies Day.

Jessie Murphy braved the winds at Flemington and led the charge in a chic Balmain minidress and Victoria Novak headpiece, while Anna Heinrich also channelled a demure and ladylike aesthetic, wearing a high-cut purple dress by the discount fashion label Forever New.

Pink suits were a major trend on Thursday, with both Myer ambassador Rachael Finch and Georgia Love opting for sleeved and sleeveless variations. 

Georgia’s suit was made by Effie Kats, while her striking headpiece was a Murley and Co Millinery design.

Elsewhere trackside, model and former Miss Universe Australia Tegan Martin played it safe in a floral Talulah dress and nude heels.

Fellow model and presenter Kate Peck opted for the Australian powerhouse designer Scanlan Theodore, while racing royalty Kate Waterhouse wore a demure dress covered in lip prints.
